Technology

The Carbon Capture Report builds on more than a decade of work at the University of Illinois and National Center for Supercomputing Applications (the birthplace of the modern web) leveraging some of the most powerful supercomputers in the world to synthesize the global news media and extract new meaning from it on behalf of industry and government. About the Technology.

The Illinois Advantage

It was at the University of Illinois that the modern web was born (Mosaic) and that many of today's social media concepts were invented (PLATO), while its National Center for Supercomputing Applications founded the United States academic supercomputing program. Illinois is therefore uniquely suited to advancing the state of the art in understanding public perception of energy in the global sphere, as the institution that brought much of the underpinnings that support this interaction to the world in the first place.
